Troop History
Standards of Excellence for Boys and Girls
Troop 1015 Boys Unit was established in November 1946, and Troop 1015 Girls Unit, one of the founding Troops for girls, was established in 2019. We are a dedicated Scout Troop, with deep roots in Alameda. Our Troop is sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Alameda Lodge 1015. The Elks offer the Scouts many opportunities for community service, as well as, provide the Troop with our own dedicated space and storage.
Our well established boys unit and our recently formed girls unit maintain a high standard of excellence. One-hundred and forty Scouts from Troop 1015 have earn the rank of Eagle Scout since its establishment, and we have many more well on their way. Part of our success lies in a dedicated group of Scout leaders, parents and alumni –many of whom have been a part of the troop since they were Scouts themselves.
The boys and girls units in the Troop maintain their own Senior Patrol Leaders, who work in tandem to run the weekly Troop meetings, campouts, and events. This affords many opportunities for both the boys and girls to hold a position of leadership.
